Cacay: The pure Power of Nature

In South America, the omnipotent effect of cacay has been known for centuries. The cacay tree originates from the Orinoco and Amazon river basins – specifically in Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador and Peru.

The Cacay Tree

The evergreen cacay tree produces fruits that are the size of oranges and usually contain three seeds. These seeds are egg-shaped and have a dark brown colour – they are used to cold-press cacay oil. A normal-sized tree in the wild with a height of about 40 meters can produce several hundred kilos of nuts a year.

Cacay Oil

Cacay oil smells naturally nutty and can be used either pure or mixed in serums, masks and creams. The oil is quickly absorbed and leaves the skin feeling well hydrated and pleasantly soft.

What is the Effect of Cacay?

  • Anti-Aging Properties: Cacay oil is rich in vitamin E as well as vitamin A (retinol), both of which are known to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and signs of ageing. It helps to improve skin texture and smoothen the appearance of wrinkles.

  • Deeply moisturizing: The oil has a light texture and absorbs quickly into the skin, providing intense hydration. It helps to hydrate the skin and fight dryness, resulting in smoother and softer skin.

  • Skin Regeneration: Due to its high content of essential fatty acids, especially linoleic acid, cacay oil supports the regeneration of skin cells. It helps to strengthen the skin barrier and promote skin renewal, which can lead to a fresher and more radiant complexion.

  • Antioxidant Action: Cacay oil contains natural antioxidants such as vitamin E, which help to fight free radicals and reduce oxidative damage in the skin. This can help slow down the skin's ageing process and protect against environmental damage.

  • Reduces hyperpigmentation: Due to its vitamin A content, cacay oil can also help reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation and dark spots. It helps even out skin tone and promote a more even complexion.

  • Anti-inflammatory properties: The anti-inflammatory properties of cacay oil can help treat skin irritation, redness and inflammation. It soothes the skin and supports a healthy skin balance.
